Will I have to arrange to see the properties myself?

No. We could arrange to book your accommodation, pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the properties. We will tell you all you need to know about the property, areas, schools, amenities etc so that you can make an informed decision without any pressure.

In whose name should I purchase the property?

There are a number of ways to purchase the property:
• In your own name
• In the joint names of husband and wife or co-purchaser (s)
• In the names of your adult children or in the name of somebody who will eventually inherit the property from you
• In the name of a UK limited company.

How much can I borrow?

Do I need permission to purchase a property Abroad?

Generally, no. Where necessary, a lawyer can apply for the permission for you.

Do I have to be in the country to complete the transaction?

n the event that you will not be able to attend the signature of the promissory contract your lawyer will provide you with a power of attorney and advise you of the necessary formalities for this document to be prepared abroad.

What is the procedure for buying property abroad?

Will the property be freehold?

In almost all cases yes, your lawyer will make all the necessary checks so that you are in a fully informed position before you buy.

How much deposit is required?

Normally at least 10 % of the purchase price is paid when you sign the promissory contract. This contract should only be signed when your lawyer has made the necessary searches on the property and when you feel comfortable with all of its contents


How long does the process take?

Once the valuation has been carried out, a loan offer is issued, and all formalities run smoothly, usually a minimum of 12 weeks should be allowed for completion.
